BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute women's basketball team received double-doubles from Kylie Grant and Anabela Jakelic for the third straight game but Centenary University handed them an 85-40 defeat on Saturday afternoon at the Activity Resource Center.
Grant scored a game-high 24 points paired with 12 rebounds for her fourth straight double-double and fifth of the season. Jakelic added 15 points and 12 boards for her third straight double-double and fourth of the season. Both also combined for four assists and four steals.
Pratt (0-7) scored the game's first point but the Cannoneers' future Atlantic East Conference rivals took control after leading 25-7 at the first intermission. The gold-and-black won the fourth quarter, 18-13, with Grant logging 12 of her game-high in the period.
The Cyclones (6-2) finished shooting 44 percent (38-of-87) while the Cannoneers mustered a 22 percent (13-of-59) connect rate.
Centenary saw three Cylcones in double figures led by Brie Opdyke's 17 points and Kayla Sampong added 16. Vatijah Davis contributed a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Pratt plays their final home game of the fall semester on Tuesday, December 5, welcoming York College to the ARC for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
