ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — Despite a double-double from Anabela Jakelic and a game-high in scoring from Kylie Grant, the Pratt Institute women concluded the 2023 portion of their schedule with a 65-34 road defeat to Bard College on Saturday afternoon at the Stevenson Athletic Center.
Grant finished with 18 points to lead all scorers and pulled down seven boards, swiped five steals and handed out three assists. Grant saw her double-double streak snapped at four while Jakelic recorded her fourth straight double-double – and fifth of the season – by way of 11 points and 10 caroms.
Six quick points from Grant gave the black-and-gold a slight early lead before the Raptors (3-5) unleashed a 13-0 run to take the lead for good. Pratt shot 40 percent in the first half but couldn't keep pace with Bard's 47 percent connect rate building a 37-20 lead at the intermission and Pratt couldn't cut into the deficit in the second stanza.
Bard placed three players in double-figures led by Shirley Dong's 13 points. Aislynn Dixon added 12 points.
Pratt (0-8) resumes play in the new year hosting the University of Maine-Fort Kent on Sunday, January 14 for a noon showdown at the ARC.
