BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute women's basketball team lost at home to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 81-25, on Wednesday evening.
Sophomore Kylie Grant led the Cannoneers (1-22) with 10 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, extending her streak scoring in double figures to 23 games. Senior Kinako Miyake chipped in 11 points and three rebounds for her third straight double-digit scoring outing. Sophomore Almudena Valenzuela also added six points.
The United States Merchant Marine Academy (21-2) shot 46 percent from the field and went on multiple scoring runs to pull away from the gold-and-black.
Lauren Hunter had 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists for USMMA. Bryanne Buchanan-Cummings had a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double and Madison Demos chipped in 14 points and six assists.
The Cannoneers wrap up the season at home and celebrate their two seniors on Friday, February 18 against Rosemont College. Tip-off at the ARC will be at 6:30 p.m.
