BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Pratt Institute men's volleyball team landed 25 kills but it wasn't enough to upend Bryn Athyn College in a 3-1 defeat (25-13, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17) on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening.
Jason Raymond pounded a match-best 11 kills and brought up 14 digs for his second double-double of the season. Brooks Reid also finished with a double-double handing out 15 assists to go along with a match-high 21 digs also adding five kills. Max Wang also slammed five kills and brought up 12 digs.
Jaryn McCann led Bryn Athyn (2-9, 1-1) with nine kills and seven blocks. Jason Reyes added eight kills, 20 digs and three aces.
After dropping the opening set, Pratt (2-11, 0-2) leveled the match in a second stanza where then never trailed. The black-and-gold led by as many as five on three different occasions before the hosts pulled even at 22-all, but two Lion miscues and an Eli Toker ace sealed the set win.
Bryn Athyn stormed out to a 10-1 lead in set three and never looked back. Pratt battled back in the fourth and remained level at 14-all trying to force a fifth set, but the hosts closed out the set and match on an 11-3 spurt.
Pratt returns to the comforts of the ARC on Saturday, March 18 hosting Wilson College in a 1 p.m. CSAC affair.
