BRONX, N.Y. – Six different Cannoneers recorded a kill, but the Pratt Institute men's volleyball fell in straight sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-15) to Lehman College at The APEX on Saturday afternoon.
Jason Raymond and Akul Kasliwal paced Pratt (1-9) combining for nine kills – Raymond landing five and Kasliwal putting down four – and 18 digs. Raymond brought up a team-high 10 digs. Max Wang dished out 10 assists to go along with six digs and a pair of kills.
Ray Rodriguez led the hosts (8-5) with match-highs of 15 kill and 16 digs. Andrew Figueroa and Miguel Gonzales added eight kills apiece.
As in their last outing on Thursday, Pratt had their best effort in the second stanza. After falling behind by as many as 10, the Cannoneers rallied late and pulled within four at set point. The black-and-gold landed eight kills in the set – three from Kasliwal at a .333 clip – their best offensive frame of the match.
Pratt returns to the ARC on Wednesday, March 8 to host SUNY College at Old Westbury for a 7 p.m. match.
