Sancho-Spore’s 1500 Win Highlights Track and Field at The Big Hurt

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Christina Sancho-Spore captured an event victory in the 1500-meter run and Thomas Perrone captured third in the men's event as the Pratt Institute men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor season at The Big Hurt hosted by St. John's University on Saturday.

Sancho-Spore clocked in at 5:18.18 for a nearly 30-second win in the women's 1500. Sarah Cawley (5:47.53) and Fernanda Alatorre (6:01.31) followed in third and fourth in the event.

In the men's 1500, Perrone and Bruce Westgate finished third and fourth in 4:29.85 and 4:32.87. 

Siena Sujitno matched her career-best 12.94 in the 100 meters to finish sixth overall and the second DIII runner.

Pratt returns to the track tomorrow at the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
