FLUSHING, N.Y. – Mehul Bhargava was victorious at singles and doubles to pick up both points for Pratt Institute in a 7-2 defeat to Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon in a home match at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Bhargava prevailed in straight sets in the lead singles match, 6-3, 6-1. He teamed up with Ryan Nelsen for an 8-7 (5) win at No. 1 doubles.
Nelsen took seven games off his opponent at No. 2 singles falling 6-2, 7-5. Caleb Callahan and Johnny Xie both won three games in a losing effort at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.
The men's tennis team concludes the regular season with a 6-5 overall record and will head to Newport News, Virginia as the No. 5 seed for the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tennis Championships beginning on Friday, April 28 at Christopher Newport University.
