Men’s Tennis Blanks York

The Cannoneers surrendered just three games across nine matches.

JAMAICA, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute men's tennis team bounced back from their lone loss of the spring season with a convincing 9-0 non-conference victory over York College on Friday afternoon.

The Cannoneers (5-2) surrendered just two games in doubles with Mehul Bhargava and Ryan Nelsen winning at love at No. 1 and Caleb Callahan and Brian Duval winning by the same margin at No. 2. Matthew Stachura and Cole Rudy teamed up for an 8-2 triumph in the No. 3 match.

The black-and-gold continued their dominance in the singles session as they only gave up one game in total. Bhargava (No. 1), Nelsen (No. 2), Johnny Xie (No. 4), Thomas Van Trier (No. 5), and Saddqa Bahidrah (No. 6) all secured 6-0, 6-0 victories. Callahan was victorious 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

Pratt returns to the courts tomorrow to host John Jay College at the USTA National Tennis Center starting at 1:30 p.m.
