FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Pratt Institute men's and women's track and field teams collectively set 10 personal bests en route to collecting a pair of sixth-place team finishes at the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Mary Washington this past weekend.
Christina Sancho-Spore had the highest individual placing of the meet taking fifth place in the 1500-meter run with a personal-best time of 5:03.66. Fernanda Alatorre lowered her PR by 25 seconds to take seventh in the event in 5:22.09.
Siena Sujitno sprinted a personal-best 12.90 in the 100-meter dash to earn a spot in the finals, before finishing in seventh overall in 12.98. She also took 10th in the long jump in 4.35 meters and 11th in the 200-meter in 27.96.
Kayla Galvan nabbed 7th in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best 20.39 and also ran a personal-best 31.51 in the 200-meter.Â
Courtney Beesch scored ninth place in the 5000-meters in 20:39.14 – over a 30-second drop in her personal best time. Ava Hunwick placed 11th in the 400-meter in a personal-best 1:06.02.
For the men, Bruce Westgate secured 10th place in the 1500-meter shaving eight seconds off his PR crossing the line in 4:20.44.Â
Thomas Perrone knocked three seconds off his best time to also take 10th in the 800-meter in 2:01.19.
Chris Degaetano bested his PR in the discus by over five meters with a toss of 16.81 meters.
The squad wraps up their 2023 season on Friday, May 12 at the ECAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Goucher College.
