PURCHASE, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the season, falling 7-0 to Manhattanville University on Saturday afternoon.
Alice Li pushed her opponent to a first-set tiebreaker at No. 5 singles in a 7-6 (4), 6-1 loss. Victoria Delgado battled to a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 4 singles. Beatrice Crespo led the lineup for the first time this season and trailed 6-5 before retiring.
Manhattanville improved to 7-1 with the win, while Pratt dropped to 3-1.
The Cannoneers return to the courts on Friday, October 11 for a non-conference road match against Brooklyn College starting at 1 p.m.
