BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's volleyball team got back into the win column with a convincing 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-17) triumph over Yeshiva University on Monday evening at the Activities Resource Center.
The Pratt (2-3) attack was led by Max Wang's nine kills, also adding two blocks and six digs defensively. Named United East Defensive Player of the Week earlier today, Jason Raymond added six kills and served up as many aces, also stuffing two blocks (one solo).
Brooks Reid dished out 23 assists and landed three kills and three aces. Joji Kawamura and Wallace Hallot also contributed three error-free kills and an ace apiece, Kawamura also bringing up a team-best eight digs. Seven different Cannoneers posted at least two kills with Michael Litolff and K Johnson added a pair each.
The Cannoneers led from start to finish in the opening set and closed out the set on a 12-5 run. The gold-and-black fell behind by as many as three early in the second, prompting a timeout at 8-5, but coming out of the timeout won the next seven points to stay on top for good.
Both teams battled in the third and Yeshiva held their latest lead of the match at 15-13, before the Cannoneers took hold of the set with six unanswered and closed out the match on a 10-2 run.
Yeshiva (0-4) was led by Andrew Pinchot's six kills and Lavi Friedman added five kills.
Pratt travels to the Garden State on Thursday, February 15 to face Drew University in a 7 p.m. matchup.
