Men’s Basketball Stopped By Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. — Ten different Cannoneers scored a field goal led by Jaden Young's 13 points, but the Pratt Institute men's basketball team returned from Manhattanville College with a 75-55 defeat on Thursday.

Young shot 6-of-12 from the field and pulled down four rebounds as the only Cannoneer to reach double-digit scoring. Patrick O'Gorman and Efe Tuydes added nine points and four rebounds apiece, Tuydes shooting 4-of-5 and setting a new career-high in 15 minutes of action. Cameron Windt chipped in six points and four assists.

Windt scored off the opening tip and O'Gorman later had back-to-back buckets for an early 6-2 advantage. Pratt led for the majority of the opening 10 minutes of action before a 14-0 run by the Valiants over four-and-a-half minutes put the hosts ahead for good and carried a 35-23 lead into intermission.

Despite improving to 41 percent shooting in the second half, the Cannoneers couldn't cut into the deficit as the Valiants finished on 49 percent shooting and maintained their separation.

Manny Udeagha led Manhattanville off the bench with 14 points and nine rebounds and Daniel Marinaccio contributed 11 points. The Valiants shot 47 percent (32-of-68) on their home floor while Pratt connected at a 37 percent (23-of-62) clip.

Pratt wraps up a five-game roadstand on Tuesday, February 13 traveling to Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania for a 7 p.m. showdown.
