KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Kylie Grant recorded her 10th double-double of the season and moved closer to the 1000-point milestone as the Pratt Institute women's basketball team was turned away by the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 66-24, on Thursday evening on the road.
Grant finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead Pratt. The junior now has 991 career points and 26 double-doubles. Almudena Valenzuela chipped in eight points, knocking down two three-pointers, and pulled down four rebounds. Niya Witherspoon collected six points, six rebounds and a steal.
USMMA scored the first 25 points of the contest and remained in control shooting 43 percent (28-for-65) for the contest. The Mariners were led by Emily Grasseler's 14 points and eight rebounds and McKenzie Cassingham added 12 points off the bench.
Pratt wraps up their home slate at the ARC on Sunday, February 11 hosting Berkeley College in a noon showdown.
