NEW YORK — Rookie Omri Hadad scored a pair of goals and junior Bryan Hong-Dominguez handed out a pair of assists as the Pratt Institute men's soccer team settled for a 2-2 tie with City College of New York in their home opener at Randall's Island on Tuesday evening.
The Beavers (0-4-1) scored the lone goal of the opening 45 minutes as Yusuf Abdelmegid's header in the 32nd minute gave an early 1-0 lead.
But the Cannoneers came out of the intermission scoring just over three minutes into the second stanza as Hong-Dominguez flipped a ball into the box and Hadad headed it in for his first collegiate goal that leveled the game at 1-all.
Less than 10 minutes later, the duo connected again as Hong-Dominguez fired a shot from the right side in transition that was saved but right to the trailing Hadad who slammed in the rebound for a 2-1 lead.
The Cannoneers held the advantage for over 30 minutes with Carter Tillman making three big saves to preserve the one-goal lead. But during a frantic final minutes of regulation, CCNY managed to find the equalizer with just over two minutes to play as Peter Gjini's header off a corner leveled the match.
Pratt returns to Randall's Island to host Brooklyn College on Friday, September 20, starting at 6:30 p.m.
