PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 7-0 non-conference win over St. Joseph's University (Long Island) on Sunday afternoon.
Pratt secured the doubles point winning all three matches by a 6-1 margin with Kayla Abraham and Srishti Agarwal in the lead match, Beatrice Crespo and Siya Sawhney in the No. 2 match and Victoria Hatala and Victoria Delgado in the No. 3 match.
The Cannoneers took all six singles matches in straight sets. Abraham led the lineup to win at love, 6-0, 6-0. Crespo dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 2 position.
Sawhney prevailed in a first-set tiebreaker before cruising in the second set at No. 3, 7-6 (3), 6-1. Delgado took the No. 4 match dropping just three games, 6-2, 6-1.
Alice Li and Hatala both were victorious by matching 6-1, 6-1 scores in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.
Pratt faces Manhattanville on Saturday, October 5 in a non-conference road match starting at noon.
