SCRANTON, Pa. — The Pratt Institute men's soccer team fell 4-0 to Marywood on Saturday afternoon on the road in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.
Marywood (8-7-1, 5-1-0) opened the scoring on a penalty at 26:01 from Jake Brown, then added two more before halftime through Grant Bernstein at 34:21 and Drew Smith at 37:13. Jack Forbes set up the second and third goals. Manny Baez made it 4-0 in the 53rd minute off a service from Alex Visha.
Dimitris Papagiannakopoulos (Athens, Greece) finished with eight saves for Pratt (0-12-2, 0-5-1), including first-half stops on Donnie Powell in the 14th minute and a pair of efforts from Forbes minutes later. The senior also denied Brian Marshall twice after the break.
The black-and-gold generated five shots in the second half. Omri Hadad (Ramat Gan, Israel) put two on frame, forcing saves in the 49th and 86th minutes, while Paxton Lyman (Berkeley, Calif.) recorded two first-half attempts. Pratt's best spell came around the hour, as the Cannoneers earned a corner and pushed numbers forward.
For the Pacers, Forbes led the attack with two assists, and Brown converted the spot kick. Goalkeepers Ryan Schweigart (one save) and Jairo Salazar (two) combined on the clean sheet.
Pratt wraps up their Atlantic East slate on Wednesday, Oct. 29 with a road test at Saint Elizabeth University kicking off at 3 p.m.
