HADDONFIELD, N.J. — For the second straight week, junior Pallavi Verghese has been named the Atlantic East Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, following a dominant performance in Pratt Institute's 5-2 win over Rutgers-Camden on Sunday.
The Fayetteville, Arkansas native continued her strong form with wins in both singles and doubles in the top position, helping the Cannoneers remain undefeated. In singles, she earned a straight-set 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 spot. She also teamed up with Beatrice Crespo for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles—the Cannoneers' only doubles victory of the match.
Sunday's win handed Rutgers-Camden just their second loss of the season, dropping the Scarlet Raptors to 6-2. Pratt improved to 4-0 overall with the result.
Pratt will put their win streak on the line on Sunday, October 12 hosting local foe Baruch College to the USTA National Tennis Center starting at 4:30 p.m.
