NEW YORK — The Pratt Institute men's track and field team opened its 2025-26 indoor season with a series of strong individual efforts at the TCNJ Indoor Open on Saturday, held at The Armory. Competing against a field of athletes from all three NCAA divisions, the Cannoneers showcased their depth in both sprints and distance events.
Junior Liam Reilly (East Setauket, N.Y.) turned in the day's top performance for the gold-and-black, securing a 10th-place finish in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:07.42. Reilly also competed in the mile, crossing the line in 5:13.19.
In the mid-distance events, sophomore William Stewart (Stuttgart, Germany) earned an impressive 11th-place showing in the 600-meter run, clocking in at 1:40.20. Earlier in the meet, Stewart ran the 300-meter dash in 42.34. Anyadire Erima (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also represented Pratt in the 300 meters and competed in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 1:10.90.
The meet marked the collegiate debut for two Cannoneers. First-year Jarius Taylor (Rockville, Md.) had a standout start to his career, sprinting to a seventh-place finish in the unseeded 60-meter dash with a time of 7.79 seconds. Classmate Jackson Brock (Vicenza, Italy) impressed in his first indoor appearance, competing in the 1000 meters (3:20.45) and the mile (5:34.12).
Pratt will return to action after the new year when it travels to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Wagner Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.
