GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. — Cameron Windt led four Cannoneers scoring in double figures, Mekhi Davis recorded a double-double, and the Pratt Institute men's basketball team connected on 14 three-pointers in a 90-73 road defeat to Gwynedd Mercy University in Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Windt drained five three-pointers and shot 6-of-12 overall with four rebounds to log a team-high 19 points. Mekhi Davis scored 12 points and pulled down as many rebounds for his second career double-double and also dished out four dimes
Thomas Graetz added 15 points, sinking three three-pointers, with a game-high six assists and four boards. Lucas Zamboni matched his career high of 11 points, also adding three from behind-the arc and distributed four assists.
Sebastian Roda went 4-of-4 from the field and finished with nine points coming off the bench. Quinn McCormick pulled down a game-best 14 boards and scored six points.
Despite a 55 percent (16-of-29) shooting effort in the first half including 73 percent (8-for-11) from three-point land, Pratt trailed 51-40 at intermission. The Cannoneers opened the game with an 8-3 advantage before finding themselves down seven but rallied to tie the game at 28-all. The hosts responded with eight unanswered and extended to a double-digit advantage.
Gwynedd Mercy widened their lead to as many as 16 early in the second before Pratt chipped away and the deficit and back-to-back trifectas from Windt pulled the Cannoneers within four, 66-62, with just over 12 minutes to play. Pratt held the deficit to single-digits before the Griffins put the game out of reach in the final four minutes.
Aquil Stewart had 20 points and six steals to pace four Griffins in double-figure scoring and Mike Marable added 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Pratt returns to Brooklyn for their final two home contests at the ARC this week, welcoming Centenary University on Wednesday, February 5 tipping at 7 p.m.
