PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute scored a 7-0 victory over St. Joseph's University-Long Island in a non-conference road match on Thursday afternoon in their first match of 2025.
Nathan Park led the singles lineup for the first time and produced a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Calder Tillinghast secured a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Caleb Callahan turned in a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 3 singles.
Shrenik Mahaveer picked up his first singles win of the season, taking the No. 4 singles match 6-4, 6-2. Johnny Xie prevailed in a third-set supertiebreaker at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-2). Making his collegiate debut, Davyen Garrett dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 6 position.
Tillingast and Callahan teamed up for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Park and Mahaveer clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 triumph at the No. 2 spot. Xie and Garret edged their opponents at No. 3 pairs in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5).
Pratt (3-4) is back on the courts tomorrow traveling to the Bronx to face Lehman College in a non-conference tilt starting at 3 p.m.
