Late Rally for Men’s Volleyball Comes Up Short at Neumann

ASTON, Pa. — The Pratt Institute men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Neumann University in United East Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the Mirenda Center.

Max Wang and Brooks Reid led the attack with six kills apiece, Wang also bringing up eight digs with a solo block. Nathan Kim directed the offense with 16 assists and four digs. Jude Fox anchored the back row with a match-high-tying 11 digs and a kill.

Neumann (7-7, 1-0) took sets one and two comfortably by a 25-12 and 25-10 margin and raced out to a 6-1 lead in set three before Pratt (6-8, 0-2) rallied with a 7-1 run to pull back into the frame. The third set featured 11 ties and six lead changes and the Cannoneers led by as many as three at the 16-13 mark. Pratt clung to a 21-20 lead trying to force a fourth set before the Knights closed out the match on a 5-1 run.

Trey Edmonds led Neumann with 11 kills and Noah Banaag handed out 14 assists.

Pratt has a week off before traveling to defending champion Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, March 15 for a 1 p.m. United East test.
