BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's volleyball battled Farmingdale State College in hard-fought 3-0 loss at home, 26-24, 25-12, 25-20, on Thursday evening at the Pratt Activity Resource Center.

The Cannoneers (0-5) had a balanced attack led by Kelsy Padilla's seven kills and 12 digs. Rookies Joanna Doyle, Jamie Shoemake, and Maggie Hughes put down five kills each with Doyle also stuffing five blocks (one solo). Eden Shih handed out 22 assists and had seven digs.

In the opening set, Pratt erased an eight-point deficit at 18-10 and had a late surge to take a 24-23, but the Rams managed to rally to win three straight to take the opening set.

Farmingdale (7-3) cruised through the second set and both played a tight third, either team able to build more than a three-point lead until late in the frame. Pratt trailed by one at 17-16 with the visitors closing out the match on an 8-4 spurt.

The Rams were led by Samantha Russo who had an 11-kill, 12-dig double-double.

Pratt returns to action on Tuesday, September 23 hosting Sarah Lawrence College at the ARC at 7 p.m.
