NEW YORK — The Pratt Institute women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat from John Jay College in their 2025 season opener on Tuesday afternoon at Randall's Island.
Pratt (0-1) held an edge in possession in the evenly-matched contest but it was John Jay (2-0) who made the most of their opportunities, breaking the deadlock in the 28th minute on a goal from Emma Fisher from outside the box. The Bloodhounds added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute as Natalie Mack capitalized on a Cannoneer miscue in the defensive third.
The Cannoneers finished with a slight 8-7 shot edge and 6-3 shots on goal. Kate Nolan fired three shots and Emma Pratt added a pair.
Pratt plays their next three on the road and returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 6 heading to Rutgers University-Newark for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
