READING, Pa. — Lawton Tucker-Ortega scored his first collegiate goal as the Pratt Institute men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback on the road to Penn State Berks on Saturday afternoon.
The host Nittany Lions scored less than 10 minutes into the contest as Alex Snyder's tally was the lone goal of a first half that saw Pratt with a slight 8-7 edge in shots.
Penn State widened their lead with a pair of goals in the 60th and 74th minutes before the Cannoneers spoiled the clean sheet in the 81st minute. After winning a ball near the center circle, Pratt raced in on goal with numbers and Paxton Lyman found a streaking Tucker-Ortega in front of a wide-open net.
Pratt outshot Penn State, 17-16, with Dylan Costa firing six shots and Alex Abbruzzese and Tucker-Ortega launching three apiece. Dimitris Papagiannakopoulos had two saves in 45 minutes in goal.
The black-and-gold travel to borough foes Brooklyn College on Monday, September 22 for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
