BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's soccer fell 2-0 on the road to borough rivals Brooklyn College on Monday afternoon in non-conference play.
Despite coming out on the wrong end of the decision, the Cannonners hung tough with their opponent as all seven matches thus far have been decided by two or fewer goals.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the opening half, with Emir Imamberdiev striking in the 24th and 37th minutes off assists from Yassin Hairane and Navruz Asatullaev.
The Cannoneers generated chances of their own, registering nine shots and forcing four saves from Brooklyn goalkeeper Wilson Munoz. First-year forward Lawton Tucker-Ortega put two shots on target, while sophomore midfielder Nicco Prada paced Pratt with three attempts.
Senior goalkeeper Dimitris Papagiannakopoulos made three saves in the opening half, and fifth-year keeper Anil Pugh came on after the break to add four stops while holding Brooklyn scoreless in the second frame.
Pratt (0-6-1) will look to rebound on Saturday when it hosts Hunter College at the Aviator Sports & Events Center. The 4 p.m. contest will also serve as Senior Day, honoring the program's graduating class.
