Mactavish's Drains Five Triples as Comeback Bid for Women's Basketball Falls Short to Eagles

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute women's basketball team staged a furious third-quarter comeback to take the lead but ultimately fell to Saint Elizabeth University, 65-56, in a hard-fought Atlantic East Conference matchup on Wednesday night at the Activity Resource Center.

Kylie Grant (Dallas, Texas) led a balanced Cannoneer (1-20, 0-13 Atlantic East) attack with 19 points and Lola Mactavish (Sydney, Australia) poured in a career-high 17 points.

The Eagles (12-12, 6-7 Atlantic East) built an early lead, carrying a 29-22 advantage into the halftime break. The Cannoneers responded with their best stretch of the game in the third quarter, opening the period on a 17-5 run. A pair of three-pointers from Mactavish bookended the surge, giving Pratt a 39-34 lead with 4:46 left in the frame. The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter, and the Cannoneers entered the final period trailing by just one, 43-42.

Saint Elizabeth opened the fourth quarter scoring the first seven points and maintained their distance for the win.

Grant filled the stat sheet with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in a full 40 minutes of action. Mactavish was lethal from beyond the arc, knocking down five three-pointers to finish with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Anabela Jakelic (Zagreb, Croatia) narrowly missed a double-double, recording eight points and nine boards. Emily Carlson (Utica, N.Y.) provided a spark off the bench with eight points and five rebounds. Dahlia Dimitrov (Montreal, Canada) orchestrated the offense effectively, dishing out a team-high six assists.

Elyssa Russo had a standout performance for the Eagles, finishing with a game-high 22 points and 10 steals. Ahjionae Cobb scored 15 points, while Yasminah White and Mya Davis each added 12 points.

The Cannoneers will close out their 2025-26 home schedule on Saturday, February 21, hosting Immaculata University on Alumni and Senior Day. The women will play in the second game of the doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
