Men's Track & Field Posts Solid Marks at Big Apple Invite

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's track and field team delivered a series of season-best performances at the Big Apple Invitational on Saturday, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Cannoneers were paced by a strong team showing in the 800-meter run.

Sophomore William Stewart (Stuttgart, Germany) led a trio of Pratt runners in the 800 meters, posting a team-best time of 2:19.48 in his first attempt at the distance this season. He was followed by junior Liam Reilly (East Setauket, N.Y.) and first-year Jackson Brock (Vicenza, Italy), who also established season benchmarks with times of 2:25.06 and 2:28.69, respectively.

Both Reilly and Brock competed in the mile as well, with Reilly finishing in 5:14.35 and Brock crossing the line in 5:34.54.

In the sprints, first-year Jarius Taylor (Rockville, Md.) was the top finisher for the gold-and-black in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.85 seconds. Junior Anyadire Erima (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted season-best marks in two events, running the 60 meters in 8.12 and the 200-meter dash in 27.62.

Pratt returns to the track on Saturday, Feb. 14, when it travels to Manhattan for the NYU DIII Invitational at The Armory.
