Women's Soccer Rolls Past Maritime 6-2 In Season Opener

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. — Four different Cannoneers found the back of the net as the Pratt Institute women's soccer team kicked off the 2026 season with a 6-2 road victory over SUNY Maritime College on Tuesday evening.

Alyssa Trujillo (Morrison, Colo.) and Chloe Tien (Broomfield, Colo.) each scored twice, and Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) added a goal and two assists as Pratt (1-0-0) scored the first five goals in the dominant season-opening triumph.

Trujillo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, sneaking in behind the Maritime keeper off a corner kick to clean up the Tien service into the box.

Emma Pratt made it 2-0 in the 39th minute, tucking a shot into the lower right corner of an empty net after the Maritime goalkeeper came off her line. Esme Falk (Oakland, Calif.) earned the assist as the black-and-gold took a two-goal lead at intermission.

Pratt broke the game open to start the second half. Trujillo's second goal, assisted by Kate Nolan (Perth, Australia), put the Cannoneers ahead 3-0 in the 54th minute, and Tien answered in the same minute, converting a pass from Emma Pratt for a 4-0 lead. Tien completed her brace unassisted in the 59th minute, finishing after the Maritime keeper couldn't control an initial save for a 5-0 cushion.

Emani Abdool got Maritime (0-1-0) on the board in the 61st minute, turning and firing from 25 yards. Pratt answered when Nolan chipped a shot over the keeper from the left side in the 80th minute, assisted by Emma Pratt, to make it 6-1. Abdool's second goal, a blast from 20 yards, closed the scoring in the 82nd minute for the final 6-2 margin.

Nolan finished with a goal and an assist among a team-high 6 shots, and Emma Pratt led Pratt with 8 shots to go with her goal and two assists. Josey Kanach (Washington, D.C.) and Fiona Sutherland (Naperville, Ill.) each also put a shot on goal, and Layan Reed (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Juno Joshua (Middletown, Del.) each had a shot for the Cannoneers.

Savannah Depaz (Chapel Hill, N.C.) started in goal and did not allow a goal across 59 minutes to earn the win, facing two shots. Angelina Perez (Jamaica, N.Y.) went the rest of the way in relief, making one save on four shots faced.

Abdool finished with both of Maritime's goals on 4 shots, and Devon Etienne made 10 saves in goal for the Privateers.

Pratt out-shot Maritime 28-6 overall, including a 16-3 advantage in shots on goal, and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Cannoneers return to action Saturday when they visit Rowan University at 5 p.m. in Glassboro, N.J., in a non-conference match.
