PURCHASE, N.Y. — Three first-half goals powered the Pratt Institute women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Purchase College on Thursday evening in Purchase, N.Y.

Sophomore forward Chloe Tien (Broomfield, Colo.) provided a goal and an assist, and senior goalkeeper Savannah Depaz (Chapel Hill, N.C.) stopped nine shots — including a second-half penalty kick — as Pratt (4-1-0) picked up its third consecutive victory against Purchase (0-1-1).

The Cannoneers jumped ahead in the 6th minute when senior midfielder Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) played a through ball up the left side to Tien, who finished on a long run — Tien's team-leading fifth goal and third game-winner.

Pratt doubled its advantage in the 31st minute. After the Purchase defense failed to clear a ball played into the penalty area, junior forward Kate Nolan (Perth, Australia) put away the loose ball for an unassisted tally.

First-year defender Penelope Figueroa-Ray (St. Paul, Minn.) capped the scoring in the 40th minute, heading home a service from Tien off a corner kick just 17 seconds after checking into the match.

The Panthers pressed to break through in the second half and earned a penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Saige Navara stepped to the spot for Purchase, but Depaz turned aside the attempt to preserve the three-goal margin.

Depaz finished with nine saves across 90 minutes to secure her third straight clean sheet. Emma Pratt led all players with eight shots, placing three on target, while Nolan placed all three of her attempts on goal.

Navara led the Panthers with six shots, including five on goal, while Jill Creegan made five saves and Autumn Richards added one in relief for Purchase.

Pratt outshot Purchase 16-12 overall, though both sides placed nine shots on frame. The Panthers held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Pratt faces The City College of New York on Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at Randall's Island — Field 10 in New York in a non-conference match.
