YONKERS, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Sarah Lawrence College on Monday evening at Fleming Field.

Dylan Costa (Cresskill, N.J.) scored his first goal of the season in the 68th minute to bring the Cannoneers back within one, but the black-and-gold (1-4-1) couldn't draw level and conceded in the final second to Sarah Lawrence (2-3-3).

The hosts struck early in the fourth minute when Noah Oduwole converted a feed from Ivan Pudelka to give Sarah Lawrence an early 1-0 advantage which stood until intermission.

The Gryphons extended its lead in the 49th minute as Dylan Peavoy capitalized on an unassisted effort to make it 2-0, a tally that ultimately stood as the game-winner.

Pratt answered back in the 68th minute when Costa scored unassisted, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and giving the Cannoneers momentum down the stretch.

Pratt pressed forward for an equalizer over the final 20 minutes, generating looks from Griffin Benkovszky (Ashland, Va.) in the 72nd minute and Lucca Novi (The Woodlands, Texas) in the 86th minute, but could not find the leveling goal. Sarah Lawrence sealed the outcome with one second left on the clock as Pudelka scored off service from Conner Jennings just before time expired..

Pavel Emam (Arlington, Va.), Bryan Hong-Dominguez (San Diego, Calif.) and first-year Mathias Storrer (São Paulo, Brazil) each contributed a shot on target for Pratt. Sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Pettit (Houston, Texas) turned in three saves on the evening.

Sarah Lawrence finished with a 14-6 edge in total shots, a 6-4 margin in shots on goal and a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. 

Pratt resumes its four-game road stand traveling to York College on Saturday, September 26 for a noon kickoff in Queens, N.Y.
