KINGS PARK, N.Y. — Dominic Paolini and Giovanna Lisa were the top runners for the Pratt Institute men's and women's cross country teams at the St. Joseph's University Invitational on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Sunken Meadow State Park.
Lisa paced the women to a fifth-place team finish — second among Division III teams — covering the 5-kilometer course in 22:28.75 good for 23rd overall and the 7th DIII harrier across the line. Brianna Martinez-Burns crossed second for Pratt in 23:18.03 in 32nd place.
Finn Powell (23:45.46) and Sarah Cawley (23:46.72) finished back-to-back in 39th and 40th place, respectively, while Gabriela Testani completed the scoring with a time of 28:13.16 in 87th.
Reigning C2C Athlete of the Week Paolini was the top Pratt male runner in 31:13.65 in 34th place and Ian Chen followed in 32:06.79 in 47th. Andrew Langpap was third in 34:41.89 in 82nd overall with Andrew Weiss finishing in 38:54.27 in 115th overall. The Cannoneers didn't register a team score in the men's race.
Pratt heads to the west coast in two weekends to compete in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 28th hosted by the University of California Santa Cruz at Baylands Regional Park.
