BRONX, N.Y. — Giovanna Lisa and Justin Cai both crossed the line first at the Medgar Evers College Legacy Invitational leading the Pratt Institute women's team to the team title and the men to a third-place finish on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park.
Lisa covered the 6-kilometer course in 27:13.8 for a 41-second victory in besting the field of 25. The Pratt women placed four runners in the top seven with Reeshane Villarama crossing in fifth overall in 28:34.3, Sarah Cawley in sixth in 29:12.5 and Leona Bergin in seventh in a season-best 30:08.5. Kathleen Chen capped off the second straight team title in as many meets finishing in 11th in 31:33.2.
Cai broke the tape at 31:12.3 for a 47-second triumph over the field of 36 on the 8-kilometer track. Andrew Langpap notched a top-10 finish clocking in at 36:04.0. Andrew Weiss crossed in 38:00.6 in 18th overall followed by Henry Domst four positions later in 38:32.4 with Jesus Nunez-Del Cuadro completing the five for the Cannoneers to take third in the field of five.
With their final tune-up in the books, Pratt sets their focus on the Atlantic East Conference Championship in two weeks on Saturday, November 2 at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y.
