BRONX, N.Y. — Placing three runners in the top 20, the Pratt Institute women's cross country team took home the team title at the Queensborough CC Invitational on Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park, while the men placed 12th overall.
In her first collegiate meet, Ela Segrave-Daly posted a time of 21:53.8 on the 5-kilometer course to lead the Cannoneers and take fifth overall. Giovanna Lisa crossed in 23:16.0 in 13th place and Sarah Cawley rounded out the three medalists in 17th place finishing in 23:54.3. Leona Bergin was 26th overall in 25:04.5 and Kathleen Chen completed the scoring five taking 35th place in 26:09.4.
With a team score of 73, Pratt had a 58-point victory over Bard College in second place (131 points) in the team competition that featured 17 scoring teams.
On the men's side, rookie Justin Cai led the men again and captured 22nd overall with a time of 31:18.0 on the 8-kilometer track. Andrew Langpap finished in 74th in 36:54.3, Andrew Weiss and Henry Domst finished in 100th and 101st in 38:50.6 and 38:53.0. Jesus Nunez-Del Cuadro rounded out the five stopping the clock in 41:16.6 in his first collegiate meet.
Pratt has a week off from racing and returns to Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, October 20th for the Medgar Evers Invitational in their final tune-up before the Atlantic East Championship.
