LATHAM, N.Y. — Pratt Institute junior Jason Raymond has been selected as the United East Conference Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending February 25, 2024, announced by the league office this afternoon.
Raymond helped the Cannoneers to a pair of victories over SUNY College at Old Westbury and Brooklyn College in a tri-match on Saturday. He stuffed seven blocks, four solo, with five coming in the team's four-set triumph over Brooklyn. He was also a force at the net offensively, hitting .340 on the afternoon with 20 kills. Raymond slammed nine kills, against zero errors, for a .474 hitting effort in the win over Old Westbury.
This is the fourth United East Player of the Week honor for Raymond who was recognized two weeks ago and once as a rookie and sophomore under the former named Colonial States Athletic Conference.Â
Raymond and the Cannoneers travel to the Bronx looking for three in a row, facing Lehman College on Tuesday, March 5 in an 8 pm showdown.
