BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — In their first match of their 2025 campaign, the Pratt Institute men's volleyball fell in straight sets (25-23, 25-9, 25-14) to Sarah Lawrence College in a non-conference road match on Thursday evening.
Jason Raymond paced the attack with five kills and two aces, three digs and a block. Brooks Reid added three kills with two aces, five digs and four aces. Griffin Benkovszky chipped in a pair of kills with two digs and a block.
The Cannoneers (0-1) threatened early in the match building as large as a three-point lead in a tight opening frame that saw nine ties and five lead changes. With the set tied at 20-all, Sarah Lawrence (2-2) on a 4-1 run to gain three set points with the black-and-gold erasing two set points before falling 25-23.
The hosts found their footing in the second and third stanzas as Pratt mustered just four kills and never played from behind.
Nate Davis led Sarah Lawrence with match highs of nine kills and seven digs. Lucas Buckley also put away nine kills with three aces.
Pratt remains on the road and travels to the Bronx to face Lehman College and Bryn Athyn College in a non-conference, tri-match on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
