Men’s Volleyball Pushes Regis to Four

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's volleyball team dropped a four-set decision (25-12, 25-20, 22-25, 25-11) to Regis College on Sunday afternoon at the Activity Resource Center, seeing their winning streak come to a end at three matches.

Brooks Reid led the Pratt (3-5) attack with 10 kills and added six digs defensively. Jason Raymond chipped in eight kills with five digs and two blocks. Max Wang had six kills with two digs and two blocks (one solo). Nathan Kim distributed 26 assists to direct the offense.

The visiting Pride (10-5) cruised in the opening set before the Cannoneers found their rhythm in the second forcing nine ties and five lead changes. With the set tied at 18-all, Regis closed out the set on a 7-2 run to build a two-set advantage.

Pratt extended the match taking the third set. Regis won the opening four points of the set before the Cannoneers drew even at 11-all. With both squads deadlocked at 16-all, Pratt won four straight and held on for the 25-22 victory.

Regis closed out the match in the fourth racing out to a 10-3 lead and never letting Pratt back into the set.

John Nangle led the Pride with 17 kills while hitting .652 and also stuffing four blocks.

Pratt returns to action on Tuesday, February 18th traveling to Yeshiva University for a 7 p.m. non-conference tilt.
