Men’s Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day Against Gallaudet

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Despite strong performances from its senior class, the Pratt Institute men's volleyball team fell short to Gallaudet University in United East Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Activity Resource Center.

Gallaudet secured the victory with set scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-27, 25-18.

Playing in their final home contest, seniors Jason Raymond, Wallace Hallot, Devaun Longley, and Lenard Tolentino were recognized prior to first serve for their contributions to the Pratt men's volleyball program.

As he has done for much of his four-year career, Raymond led Pratt offensively, finishing with a match-best 11 kills and a season-best 13 digs for his first double-double of the season. Hallot had a steady presence at the net stuffing a team-high three blocks, while Longley delivered several key serves and defensive hustle plays during exchanges finishing with two aces and two blocks. Tolentino helped anchor Pratt's defense from the libero position, bringing up a career-high five digs.

Setter Nathan Kim orchestrated the Pratt offense throughout the match dishing out 24 assists and delivering a pair of service aces. Brooks Reid joined Raymond in double-figure kills with 10 and Max Wang added seven kills and a match-best 17 digs.

Pratt got out to a slow start, with Gallaudet taking the opening set quickly. But the gold-and-black rebounded fiercely in a highly competitive second frame, narrowly falling 25-23 after erasing a six-point deficit to take a 23-21 lead.

The Cannoneers rallied in the third set jumping out a a 15-10 lead in a thrilling 27-25 set victory capped by a block by Reid and Longley to force a fourth set.

In the fourth set, Gallaudet recaptured momentum and jumped out a 9-2 lead. Despite Pratt's resilience, the visitors closed out the match, 25-18.

Kodi Lee and Zachary Bippus paced the Gallaudet (5-15, 2-4) attack, both landing nine kills. The Bison also saw four players reach double-figure digs and nearly doubled up Pratt in blocks, 10-5.5.

Pratt (6-13, 0-7) concludes their 2025 campaign on the road against Saint Elizabeth University on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m.
