NEW YORK — The Pratt Institute men's soccer team was handed a 2-0 defeat by visiting Bard College on Saturday evening at Randall's Island.
Emmett Olson broke the scoreless deadlock with less than eight minutes before intermission, taking a long pass and scoring from distance with a high shot over the Cannoneer keeper, giving Bard (5-1) a 1-0 lead.
Pratt remained close for the remainder of the contest but couldn't find the equalizer. In the 84th minute, a foul inside the box gave the Rators a chance from the penalty spot, which Mateo Betelu converted for a two-goal advantage
Bard finished with a 13-6 shot edge and an 8-1 discrepancy in corners.
Pratt returns to Randall's Island Field 10 as the visiting team on Wednesday, September 17 squaring off with City College of New York kicking off at 7:30 p.m.
