BRONX, N.Y. — A second-half offensive explosion fueled the Pratt Institute women's soccer team to a commanding 6–0 road win over Lehman College on Tuesday night, capping off non-conference play unbeaten over their last five matches.
The Cannoneers held a slim 1–0 lead at halftime, thanks to a 35th-minute strike by senior Kat Thomsen (Palo Alto, Calif.). But a five-goal surge after the break sealed the road win..
First-year forward Chloe Tien (Broomfield, Colo.) wasted no time doubling the lead, scoring just under four minutes into the second half before adding another goal two minutes later off an assist from sophomore Kate Nolan (Perth, Australia). Thomsen made it 4–0 in the 55th minute, finishing a pass from junior Annabella Russell (Pacific Palisades, Calif.).
Nolan netted a goal of her own in the 59th minute, and Russell, who also had an assist, capped the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 66th minute.
Pratt dominated in every category, outshooting Lehman 40–1, including a 25–1 edge in shots on goal. Senior Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) led all players with 10 shots and five on frame, while junior Alyssa Trujillo (Morrison, Colo.) added five more on target.
Senior goalkeeper Emma Gaspari (Naperville, Ill.) recorded one save en route to her third shutout of the year.
With the win, the Cannoneers complete non-conference play at 4-2-2 and are undefeated in their last five matches. The team opens Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday, October 4, traveling to face 2024 runner-up Marymount University in Arlington, Va.
