HADDONFIELD, N.J. — The Atlantic East Conference has named Pratt Institute senior midfielder Emma Pratt (North Attleboro, Mass.) its Women's Soccer Player of the Week and sophomore defender Josey Kanach (Washington, D.C.) its Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon.
The dual honors follow a 2-0 week for Pratt, which improved to 3-1-0 with home victories over Brooklyn College and Penn State Brandywine.
Emma Pratt scored three goals with an assist over the two matches. She found the net twice in a 4-0 win over Brooklyn on Wednesday, scoring unassisted in the 9th and 41st minutes and assisting on another on her way to a five-shot, three-shot-on-goal performance. Three days later, in a 2-0 win over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, she converted a penalty kick in the 60th minute and finished with another five shots, four of them on frame. Over the two games, Emma Pratt totaled three goals on 10 shots.
Kanach anchored the back line in both matches as Pratt posted back-to-back shutouts. She played 80 minutes against Brooklyn, a match in which the Bulldogs were limited to five shots and two on goal, and played all 90 minutes against Penn State Brandywine, a game in which the Lions were held to five shots and three on goal.
It is the first weekly honor for Emma Pratt and Kanach and the first for the Cannoneers since Kat Thomsen received the honor in 2024.
Pratt tries for three wins in a row returning to action Thursday, Sept. 17, against Purchase College at 6 p.m. in Purchase, N.Y.
