EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's golf team hosted a double dual match on Thursday morning at Leewood Golf Club, carding a team score of 424 (+144) against SUNY Purchase College and the University of Mount Saint Vincent.
In head-to-head scoring on the par-70, 6,180-yard course, Purchase topped Pratt 350-424 and defeated Mount Saint Vincent 350-419. Mount Saint Vincent edged the Cannoneers by five strokes, 419-424. Purchase's Christian Miesegaes earned individual medalist honors after shooting a 9-over-par 79.
Junior Gauthama Thiruvengadam (Chennai, India) paced Pratt on the individual leaderboard, securing fifth place in the 13-golfer field with a 23-over-par 93, bettering his score last week on the same track by two strokes. Thiruvengadam's round was highlighted by four pars, recording three on the front nine on the par-4 second, par-3 sixth, and par-3 ninth holes to go out in 44. He added his fourth par of the day on the par-3 11th hole before finishing the inward half in 49.
Junior Anirudh Bharath (Gurgaon, India) finished second for the black-and-gold, placing eighth overall with a 33-over-par 103 on nines of 50 and 53.
Fifth-year Jack Hanan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) followed in ninth place in his first outing of the season, turning in a 40-over-par 110 on matching halves of 56 and 54. Hanan's round was highlighted on the back nine by a par on the 120-yard, par-3 11th hole. Senior Byron Campos (Miramar, Fla.) completed the four-golfer lineup for the Cannoneers, carding nines of 60 and 58 to finish 13th with a 48-over 118.
Pratt is currently not scheduled to return to action until the spring season.
