LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's golf team opened its 2026-27 season on Monday afternoon at the Manhattanville Fall Invitational, carding a four-player aggregate score of 462 (+174) to finish in fifth place at the Links at Union Vale.
Competing on a par-72, 6,526-yard layout, Arthur Nelbach of Purchase College captured individual medalist honors after turning in a 4-over-par 76, highlighted by an even-par 36 on the front nine. Charlie Bezold finished one stroke back in second place with a 5-over 77 to lead Mount Saint Mary College, who finished in first place with a team score of 323 (+35), besting Purchase by 12 strokes. The Cannoneers placed fifth overall in the 18-hole stroke play field.
Junior Anirudh Bharath (Gurgaon, India) served as the low scorer for Pratt, securing 15th place in the 26-golfer field. Bharath signed for a 23-over-par 95, shooting a 49 on the front nine and shaving three strokes off his pace on the back nine to come home in 46.
Junior Gauthama Thiruvengadam (Chennai, India) was next for the Cannoneers, finishing in 17th place with a 25-over-par 97. Thiruvengadam navigated the front nine in 50 before improving on the inward half with a 47.
Senior Byron Campos (Miramar, Fla.) and fifth-year Emma Gaspari (Naperville, Ill.) completed the four-player scoring squad for the black-and-gold. Campos placed 25th with a round of 126 (+54). Gaspari posted matching nines of 72 to conclude the tournament in 26th place.
Pratt welcomes Manhattanville University and the University of Mount Saint Vincent for a double dual match at Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester, N.Y., on Thursday, September 24 scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
