Verghese Earns Third Atlantic East Women’s Tennis Player of the Week Honor

HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Pratt Institute women's tennis junior Pallavi Verghese (Fayetteville, Ark.) was named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

It marks the third weekly accolade of the 2025-26 season for Verghese, who previously secured the award on Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 during the team's undefeated fall campaign.

The junior delivered a dominant performance to open the spring season, dropping just a single game in the black-and-gold's 7-0 road sweep of Neumann University on Saturday. Verghese teamed with junior Beatrice Crespo (Kearny, N.J.) for a flawless 6-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles to set the tone for the afternoon.

Transitioning to the singles, Verghese continued her efficient play in the lead match with a swift 6-1, 6-0 triumph. Her performance at the top of the lineup helped the Cannoneers improve to an unblemished 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Atlantic East action.

Pratt returns to the courts on Saturday, March 28, traveling to Pennsylvania to face Immaculata University for an AEC match starting at 9 a.m.
