BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the addition of men's golf a varsity intercollegiate sport. The newly started program is set to begin competition with an abbreviated schedule during the upcoming spring 2026 season.
The Cannoneers will make their official debut on the links for their inaugural match on Tuesday, April 21. The team's first season will feature a condensed slate of competitions, laying the groundwork for the program's future.
Director of Athletics and Recreation Walter Rickard will guide the program in its first season, serving as interim head coach. A search for the program's first head coach will begin soon. The team is slated to compete as an independent in the 2026-27 academic year with a full schedule starting in the fall.
Prospective students interested in joining the team or prospective coaches should contact Rickard at wrickard@pratt.edu.
The addition of men's golf marks another step in the growth of Pratt's athletic offerings, providing new opportunities for student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
