NORTHPORT, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute equestrian team concluded its season Sunday at IHSA Regionals at Sagamore Hill Stables in Northport, N.Y.
Pratt's postseason group featured four Regional qualifiers: co-captains Grace Plunkett (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Alin Kutan (Istanbul, Turkey), along with Audrey Flatt (Nashville, Tenn.) and Katie McVeigh (San Diego, Calif.). The Cannoneers gained valuable post-season experience across the Open, Intermediate and Limit classes.
Plunkett paced Pratt placing fourth in Open Equitation over Fences. She followed with a sixth-place finish in Open Equitation on the Flat to round out her day in the top division.
Kutan competed alongside her in Open and finished seventh over fences and eighth on the flat, adding two more postseason rides at the region's highest level.
Flatt placed seventh in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat and McVeigh finished seventh in Limit Equitation over Fences.
Beyond the day's rides, Pratt collected several season-end recognitions. Plunkett and Kutan finished the year ranked among the region's top riders, ranked third and seventh, respectively, out of 164 riders in the 11-institution region.
Tthe Cannoneers' coaches, Kathryn Cullen-DuPont and Jake Pittari, were recognized as Pratt secured a fourth-place finish in the region standings.
