SUNNYVALE, CA - The Pratt Institute's men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Coast-To-Coast (C2C) Championships at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, California hosted by UC Santa Cruz on Saturday morning.
The men's race kicked off the Championships with Pratt finishing in 5th place with 139 points. Â Host UC Santa Cruz took first place.
As he's done all season,
Paden Spencer led the way for the Cannoneers, finishing in 13th place in a time of 25:58.2 in the 8k. Â With the finish, Spencer earned C2C Second Team All-Conference.
Thomas Perrone was second for Pratt, running in a time of 28:12.2 followed by
Nikolas Protopapas who finished in 29:15.6.
The women's team earned a 5th place finish with 150 points.
Lauren Walker set a school record with her finish, running the 6k in a time of 24:52.3 and finishing in 33rd place.
Christina Sancho-Spore had a strong performance and the second quickest time for the the Cannoneers, running in 26:36.5. Â
Giovanna Lisa was one spot behind Sancho-Spore, finishing in a time of 27:02.
Pratt's final meet of the season takes place on Saturday when it takes part in the ECACÂ Championships at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome.
