HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Pratt Institute senior forward Cameron Hatcher (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office earlier today.
Hatcher was a force on the defensive end in Pratt's 86-78 road victory over York College on Saturday, pulling down 11 rebounds — 10 on the defensive glass — while swatting four shots and collecting two steals.
The senior also excelled on offense, pouring in 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting to complete a monster double-double — his second of the season. The performance helped Pratt improve to 7-3 heading into the new year.
The weekly award is Hatcher's first of his career and Pratt's second in the last three weeks following, Trey Phillips being named Player of the Week on December 1.
The Cannoneers return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 3, hosting Elms College at the Activity Resource Center in their final tune-up before opening Atlantic East Conference play..
