CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Pratt Institute's men's and women's track and field teams delivered solid performances on a wet Saturday at the DeSales Invitational.
Leading the charge for Pratt was Hannah Kim, who secured an impressive second-place finish in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 29.38 meters. Kim also had a top-five performance in the discus event, finishing fourth with a throw of 31.22 meters.
Kaeden Green excelled in both the triple jump and long jump competitions, securing second in the triple jump with a leap of 10.59 meters and fourth in the long jump with a distance of 4.96 meters.
On the track, Siena Sujitno captured sixth place in the women's 100-meter dash, clocking in with a time of 13.95 seconds. Sarah Cawley claimed another sixth-place result in the women's 800 meters at 2:52.24. Kayla Galvan completed the women's 100-meter hurdles in 21.71 seconds, earning herself sixth place as well.
In distance events, Giovanna Lisa secured eighth place in the women's 1500 meters, finishing with a time of 5:34.83.
For the men's squad, junior Andrew Weiss earned a top-10 placement in the 800 meters, finishing tenth overall at 2:40.80.
Chris DeGaetano collected 15th in the 400 meters in 59.66 and led three Pratt men in the 200 meters in 26.65.
Soren Ekstrom posted 15.64 meters in the discus for 17th place and tossed 6.36 meters in the shot put for 21st.
Pratt returns to racing in two weekends at the Vassar Spring Invite on Saturday, April 26.
