POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's and women's track and field teams delivered several impressive performances at the Vassar April Twilight meet on Saturday in their final tune-up before the conference championships next weekend. The women delivered a seventh-place finish and the men a ninth-place finish out of 11 competing teams.
Kaeden Green was the top point collector for the women with a second-place finish in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.39 meters, which is the top leap in the conference this season. Green also placed eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.65 seconds.
Jordana Halpern secured another second-place finish for women in the hammer throw with a distance of 33.48 meters, fourth-best in the AEC, and was 11th in the discus in 26.52 meters. Giovanna Lisa contributed scored sixth-place points in the 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 13:37.17, fourth-best in the conference this season.
Brooke Schreffler placed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles in 19.81 and 12th in the long jump in 4.28 meters.
For the men's, Soren Ekstrom was the top point collector capturing third place in the discus with a throw of 18.44 meters and adding an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 6.91 meters.
William Stewart placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.93. Chris DeGaetano led the Cannoneers in the 400-meter with a personal-best time of 56.72.
Pratt wraps up their 2024-25 campaign competing in their first Atlantic East Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Saturday and Sunday hosted by Gwynedd Mercy University.
