TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. — The Pratt Institute men's golf team played its inaugural match in program history on Monday, hitting the links at Stone Hedge Golf Course to face Misericordia University and host Marywood University. The Cannoneers dropped their opening contests, falling to Misericordia 335-442 and Marywood 348-442.
Sophomore Gauthama Thiruvengadam (Chennai, India) led the way for Pratt in its debut. Thiruvengadam navigated the par-71, 6,644-yard course to card a 92, securing a 10th-place individual finish. Sophomore Anirudh Bharath (Gurgaon, India) followed closely behind for the Cannoneers posting a 98 in 11th overall.
Junior Griffin Benkovszky (Ashland, Va.) and junior Dylan Costa (Cresskill, N.J.) rounded out the scoring for Pratt, shooting 118 and 134, respectively.
Misericordia's Ryan Vallach led the field of 14, carding a 78.
Pratt returns to the links next week for a home match against Yeshiva University and Purchase College on Tuesday, April 21 at 9 a.m. at Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester, N.Y.
